The Marathon. © Lyrics Dorothy Wilson All Rights Reserved The Piccadilly race has just begun, It's a twenty six mile, gruelling, marathon run. Folks from all walks of life, have come to try, to tackle the pace, for this big marathon race. Some folks won't be held back, by their handicap. They're right in there, running in their wheelchair. Sweat pouring from their brow, trembling legs, and heart beating, like a big bass drum. To finish this marathon, is why they've come. The runners have trained for months. Gone on a diet. Jogged in the park, when all was quiet. You may even see, your granddad there. Although he's gone bald and lost his hair. So come on girls, let's be fair to him. He's having a go, so cheer him on in. You may say, well what was the purpose for this lark. Why, don't you know, it was, to save the heart. © Lyrics Dorothy Wilson All Rights Reserved
