For me creating music is often fun but it’s also a challenge and rarely easy. And sometimes I don’t rise to that challenge, but today maybe I did. A short work for Alto Sax, Trumpet, Trombone, Tuba, and Strings.

As a former sax player, I'm a curmudgeon about sax samples. They are hard to emulate, but this sounds good and 'sax' like. @Grathy mentions the relative lack of use of the saxophone in the classical genre. True. Some even went so far as to use other instuments in 'sax' like ways... bassoons for example. This is a lovely listen. Slinky. It's sort of a third stream music to my ear... like the composer Gunther Schuller. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WySkz_EbkqQ Gunther Schuller : 7 Studies on Themes of Paul Klee (1959) A creative blend of 'jazz' and modern classical... definitely worth a listen! Keep rising to the challenge, Charlie!
@Grathy I love the sax. In fact I have a couple of other two other pieces one with an orchestra the other with piano that I will post here in the future. Thanks Mary glad you enjoyed this.
@soulima Didn’t know that you played the sax John. If it sounds good to you then I’m happy. I listened to your Schuller Themes of Paul Klee which were fascinating and enjoyed two of them quite a lot. Like I mentioned to Mary I also love the sax and have a couple of works which I plan to upload here maybe when things aren’t quite as slow as they seem to be this summer. Thanks John for the listen and encouragement. Cheers.
