RESOLUTION

I
When I awake each day,
not too sure what to think or what to say.

I look around me and see
so many symptoms of insanity…

I try my level best
to love my neighbor as myself;
but it’s so very hard
watching them destroy themselves.

II
We only get one shot,
to learn to live our lives the way we ought.

We can no longer steer aright,
when faith grows cold and wisdom’s taken flight! 

It is no easy thing;
this message that I bring.
I’m at a loss for words
that might bring healing…

so I resolve to get down,
on my knees to weep and pray.
