For those of you who use Cakewalk or Sonar, Bandlab continues their control of what was free software. It is still free software but now tied into a subscription model with a "free tier". Also on offer is an online DAW that has been compared with GarageBand. Users of this DAW can collaborate but the system takes some getting used to.
The use of AI in music keeps on generating controversy. A while back I created a track with some AI additions, ever since I have been trying to remix it without the AI and now wish I had never used it.
