Lyrics

THE MAN

He had no home
He had no wife
He had his boots
To walk through life

They called him Frank
But his name was John
He didn’t mind
Not having a home

He had adventures
Like no one could
He risked his life
Like no man would

(Solo)

He was looking for gold
But he found some pearls
And on the road
He met some girls

He was a man
He was a boy
He lived his life
With real joy.

He liked adventures
He was your friend
He felt his life
Would never end

Vocal styling is accessible, digging the percussion on this track.  The spatial aspects of the mix are unique.  I enjoyed my listen.

@Barretok
This is VERY easy for me to get into. Classic progression.
LOVE the flute (being a lifelong devotee of Jethro Tull)!
That change up after 1:20 is SUPER!
Some of the best percussion I've heard on this site also...
YEP... A real winner. Among your best!

Tom Waits! That's whom I was listening to! Excellent presentation! Fully enjoyed. And was that a change of tempo? No... very effective! Love the drummer!

Percussion extravaganza ! Love it much. It has all Barr's ingredients plus a lil something more ... The lead instruments (flute/guitar/brass) are fitting so well. I agree with Mike, this is one of your best tunes ever. Clapping hands here, amigo.

@Daugrin Thanks for your comment. The percussion runs all over. I like that too.
@Wyndsok Thank you Mike, I love percussion. That's how I start the songs most of the time.
@StanTheManLoh Tom Waitts I dig his music, I guess my vocals are the product of many years of smoke
@TrebleFace Oh, thank you so much. It's a great compliment.
@Dyl Hi brother, you know what? I am very proud of this song. Thank you. You know my songs from the beginning. Your comment means a lot.
@thsantac Thank you, as I said before, I am very proud of how this song worked.

Reminds me of Tom Waits and the flute takes me back to the 70s… Good job!
