The light has gone out, the colors have faded  
A heavy grey blanket, my heart's been shaded
The spark has been smothered, the joy extinguished
My mind feels so clouded, my spirit's diminished

Trapped in this lonely world of deep depression
Where is the entrance, the hope, the regression?
Numb to emotion, no motivation  
Stuck in this cycle of mental stagnation

Laughter is silenced, smiles have disappeared, 

Energy and zest have faded, I feared. 

No passion brings the feeling, that all pleasures seem cold, 

As the emptiness grows and sadness takes hold.
