Song information
Every day the Sun passes through the skies of a world it gave birth to billions of years ago, indifferent to the petty squabbles, the countless dramas, lives and deaths on a planet millions of miles away.
“Life ... is a tale. Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, Signifying nothing.”
― William Shakespeare, Macbeth

The video for this is and yet isn't what one would expect - but it is, I believe, stirring:

Very epic sounding Charles.  The music suits the grandiosity of the subject.  Its crazy that when you think about it we are just a speck of dust.

@TrebleFace A speck of dust that can think, feel, love and create yet still… a speck of dust. Thanks Matt.

Yes, very epic sounding.  This could have been in the Superman movie from '78  or 2001 A Space Odyessy,  no problem.  Super well done, with fantastic production.

@Venturesome Humbling to be compared to both those films which had memorable soundtracks. Thanks Mark.

Although I do NOT suscribe to mainstream cosmological theories I always appreciate any attempt to
capture the grandeur of our soloar sysyem in music.
This sounds both lovely and epic!

I like the chord progression:  I, I6, IV, V.... many a classical (and pop) composer have done a lot with that one. The melodic ideas you have on top work well.

@Wyndsok There are things we have no answers for. Certainly the grandeur of the universe is one of them. Contemplating that great mystery, whatever you believe, stirrs us to our soul. Thanks Mike.

Beautiful piece; as most people say, it's very epic and would go very well as a soundtrack for many films, yet it stands on its own.

@Barretok Film scores are often considered by some as merely utilitarian yet good music, no matter what its for, stands on its own. Thanks Berretok.

@Bowman Sorry, man, I didn't mean to be offensive.

@Barretok Hey Barretok. I was simply affirming what you implied, that good music is good no matter what it is. No reason at all to apologies. Sorry I came across that way. Cheers!

I've always found comfort in zooming out and remembering how small I am in comparison to the infinite vastness of the cosmos...I think it helps me to hold onto things less tightly, as whatever I'm worried about in any moment is very small potatoes indeed in the grand scheme of things. In any event, really enjoyed this piece - there's a raw beauty and power in it that I find very compelling
