I meant to post this in December. Its a jazz piano improv version of ‘Silent Night’ composed in 1818. It starts slow but goes upbeat waltz in the middle. I recorded it on my ipad. Used Ravenscroft 275 piano app for the piano sound, and for the bass i’m playing bass with my thumbs tapping the notes on the ipad screen with the ibassist app. Recorded live, no editing. Wasn’t too steady with the beat. Should have played to a click track, but i just don’t like playing to one.
Very nice Dav and all the better for not using a click. A really nice journey through several 'moods' but keeping the essence of the tune intact. Lovely work 😎
I don't think this kind of piano works with a click track... it definately needs to breath... I wouldn't want to hear this be mechanical.... you are an exeptional piano player/musician... this transends
Your interpretative playing for this song is wonderful - lively and fun-loving. Wonderful to hear such talented playing. Oh, that VST sounds so realistic. I often use VSTs (e.g., PianoTeq, Keyscape, etc) but I also fall back to my Roland RD2000 too. Wonderfully done - lovely listen.
Wow thanks for the nice comments @MikeHuntingford . The roland rd2000 is an awesome keyboard, i hear the keybed is really great playing. Yes, I like the ravenscroft sound too, it’s very good for a variety of styles.
