THAT’S LIFE

I
Well you panic when you realize 
you left your house key stuck in the door.
The ice cream melts on the new seat cover 
on the long hot drive back home.
Groceries burst through the bottom of the bag,
and scatter all over the floor.
Slippers are filled with doggy drool!
Who could ask for more?

Walking barefoot on the lawn,
you step in somethin’ soft and warm…
You stop to smell the roses,
and get a bee sting on your nose!
Toothache on the weekend,
finds the Dentist office closed.
Why so many things fall out this way,
ain’t nobody really knows.

This life is a funny thing.
It has its ups and downs,
 but I’m thankful for every moment;

You slice some bread for a sandwich,
but it’s moldy and it’s stale.
Is there really a silver lining?
I believe there truly is…
but it takes patience, faith, and gratitude,
to find some inner peace…
