So, it's been awhile. Sold my horn several years ago when iComp went down. Just now getting back into it. Bought an old trumpet and working on getting my chops back. They do come back, don't they? Anyway, anyone who has an unfinished track looking for trumpet adds, LMK. I'll try any genre. Thanks.
Hi Bass2x! Another trumpet player here. Yes, your chops will come back. My teacner always said for every day you miss playing it takes a day just to get back where you were, but I think he was just trying to scare me to practice everyday. Dont skip on the warm ups and playing long sustained notes. They can be boring, but very helpful in getting good sound back quick, and breath control. You already have a good smooth sound from what I’ve heard so far. I have a smooth jazz chill track to post soon that could use a trumpet solo, you can add one if you like.
@Dav Good advice! I'll tackle any genre, no guarantees tho 😉 I'm still a ways away from reclaiming the trumpet but I'm enjoying the journey. Keeps me out of trouble. Idle minds and all that...
