Song information
Written after I'd heard Rush's song "Rivendell," which was on their "Fly By Night" album. The song is named after a park in Snohomish, WA where people sometimes go to fish for salmon as it is on the river or hike on trails where you have to scramble a bit. Makes for good adventures. Most people in the Seattle area don't know of the place, but it still gets crowded. I had read that John Lennon originally intended "Strawberry Fields" to be a dreaming song before the strings, horns, and special effects got involved. I feel this tune evokes that dreamlike feel with its acoustic guitars, and slide. Hope you enjoy this one

Lyrics
Here at the river
Trying to find a steelhead
Maneuver over and under log
And through the shrubbery

Who was it who gave this land to the county
I figure that he was a good man
Bob Heirman, you know he was a good man

Look at surrounding hills
Not too many houses
I see trucks and tents but how did they get across from here
I have maps and I can check the lands given by a good man
Bob Heirman always was a good man

Nobody really knows of Bob Heirman
It's hard to try to find his name anywhere
Them hours through the fields and rows
Keep it to yourself he was a good man
Bob Heirman always was a good man

You could walk across the river
It looks shallow and slow you know
Keep pursuing explorations, maybe things there won't change your life
But it's good to have a glimspe around
To have a picture for your state of mind
And here you are
Where no one else thinks to go

There's other places to see other forms of life
Other spots a few miles away to cast out your line
But learn the nature languages
In the fields given by a good man
Bob Heirman, you know he was a good man

Nice guitar work. Really beautiful. Your voice is easy listening. Gentle. A meditation almost. The very end outro is masterful. The progression hangs and the gentle slide lifts it into comfortable resolution.
