A Taste of Outer Space

I like to savor something new
Where life can simply soar
Without restraint or compromise
Embracing things from before

I’m tired of all that’s here which is
Predictable at best
How about an alien
A taste of outer space?

Those from other lands could teach
So many things to us
Imagine all the progress
Without our strife and fuss?

Solutions to our wars perhaps
Where we can get along
Or an ending to our awful ills
From biology gone wrong

Perhaps I’d meet with someone who
Could make our fighting stop
With powers that elude us
From the population drop

Where ills do not consume those
Who suffer in their age
A better body overall
So they do not feel rage

About the challenges of getting old
That come to all of us
I’d like a body that’s renewed
Wouldn’t that be such a plus?

A world that’s filled with promise
Not a dismal ending that
Makes all of us so fearful
At an ending that is flat
