Song information
Well here we are at the start of 2025!

Happy New Year all!

Lots of changes in the wind...

However, come what may, love is still love, and each of us is only human.

That said, here is a simple love song I wrote and recorded back in 2019.

Hope you like it!

Be well all!

Lyrics
JUST A MAN (AFTER ALL)

I.
Some days I hold together.
Some days I fall apart.
Some days I bait my hook,
and cast my line out.

I never want to hurt you;
neglect or cause you pain.
I want to bring you sunshine,
and never rain...

CHORUS:
Can't fly or walk on water;
but I'll answer when you call.
When all is said and done
I'm just a man...after all.

II.
Life is fired at us point blank.
Can't see what's 'round the bend.
We live moment by moment,
in this present tense...

I'll wrap my love around you.
I'll catch you if you fall.
I'll give my best and try hard,
not to drop the ball.

BRIDGE:
No living legend.
No tales tall.
I'm just a man...after all.

CHORUS:
Can't fly or walk on water,
---I'll answer when you call.
When all is said and done
I'm just a man...after all.

III.
You gave your promise to me.
I gave my heart to you.
We must walk hand in hand and
see this thing through...

Our love it can sustain us.
It's all we really own.
---Still standing when the smoke clears,
and the bird has flown...

OUTRO:
Can't fly or walk on water...

I'll answer when you call!

Hey Mike..This had instant likeability quotient..nicey nice instrumental bridge of course. This had a late 80's- early 90's British UK flair to it

"likeability quotient"---the ol' L.Q.!
I'd never heard that one before. You have raised my vocabulary a notch!
Thank you Joyce!

All the stuff I've listened to over the past five decades swirls around in my head and occasionally combines into something sonically palatable. At least, that's MY theory!
Thanks for listening and commenting Mark. Much appreciated!

Sunshine is a good way to kick off the New Year; especially in places like England and Oregon!

Happy new year! A little different from you...more like the type of music I write! But I haven't been writing anything for a couple of months! And 2025 is not looking hopeful for me doing more music! The book of mine is taking me to places I have not known! Good music! I shall be a listener...I think...maybe I have to dig up old stuff!

Mike you rascal.  You keep pumping out great stuff.  Now I know your woman is the reason.

Your library must be bigger than the library of Alexandria once was. I suspect that had a few clunkers but I don’t think yours does. Wonderful song Mike.

Deft writing my friend... you allow the entire thing to work toward your point (the song) hinting at deeper truths and never preachy

Bigger than Library of Alexandria! What a penchant for overstatement you have bro!
I have recorded over 100 songs, but others here---Al Hughson for example---have done much more.
As for "clunkers," there's still time! Lol...
