Once I was happy, I never knew why,

I thought I had forever beneath an open sky.

Then money and mistakes pulled everything apart,

And love slowly disappeared from a tired, broken heart.

Looking back, I don’t know where I went wrong,

I spent my whole life trying just to belong.

The years kept moving while I lost my way,

And now there’s less tomorrow with every passing day.

Verse 2

I walked from jobs and started over again,

Running from failure, but meeting it in the end.

Then sickness took me somewhere close to gone,

Three months in darkness while the world carried on.
