like the title says :) i was playing with new instruments from the latest logic update, and the concert grand sounded really nice, so naturally i switched my old trusty steinway to that vst. annoying that i had to change the velocity of most notes, but the piece sounded really good after! now that i made my first ever classical piece with decent length, should i go with opus numbers or should i just be as modern as current classical artists? lol picture was taken at the summit of Mount Prau in Java, Indonesia

Well, some good ideas in that piece. Maybe too much changes all along. Maybe some instruments are too much in the front. Maybe you should use reverb to add depth. Maybe... :-)
@thsantac haha, it's the wonders of coffee that does this to me :) many ideas but lack of cohesion; but thanks for the suggestion, I will take it into consideration. Mixing and mastering classical music is a pain though!
Yes, more reverb is needed for a 'wetter' sound. Lovely ideas, really... quite pop-like in feel, almost ambient, and minimalist. Almost four minutes before the piano solo enters is a long introduction. The soloist part never really takes off, in a show of virtuoisty, that defines the music as a 'piano concerto' Lots of ideas, some are very good - but it rambles. Did you use Gershwin's,' Rhapsody in Blue' as a model? Work towards developing those lovely ideas, and investigate form in piano concertos. Well done and keep going!
Really enjoyed listening to all those themes coming and going and being restated. There is enough here for multiple pieces. The strings have a "Mellotron" feel to them I don't know if that was intentional but they do not seem to match the authenticity of the other instuments.
@soulima I didn't think of using Rhapsody in Blue though. I was basing this off Moszkowski, Rachmaninoff, and Steve Reich (you guessed the minimalist part!) Thanks for the constructive suggestions!
@zincshed This is still an ongoing project. I am trying to get new strings because the normal strings (as opposed to studio strings) have that Mellotron effect on it, which I have just noticed. Thanks for the suggestions!
@soulima To add to my previous comment, I think my composition has been heavily influenced what I learned in IB Music. We were studying Kodaly and you may have noticed how it sounded like there were multiple pieces. We studied his Dances of Galanta and I may have been influenced by the verbunkos form. Take a listen to it!
You got lots of help on this piece already. For my part allow me to suggest gain stage and reverb use stuck out to my ears. I heard places where additional dynamics might have improved the project.
My choice would have been the Bosendorfer. Amazing first attempt!
