Sweet Peace

Song information
To my great surprise I recently found the file stems to a song I recorded back in 2006 to protest the war in Iraq.

I was still fairly new to recording at that time and the stems were saved in their finished form. This made remixing almost impossible, although I was able to do some EQ-ing and remastering.

I also rewrote and re-sung the lyrics so that they are no longer time specific.

Heartfelt thanks to my good friend Dan who allowed me to use his computer and internet connection to upload this one.

I’ve been super busy lately with matters of Church, family and home, so haven’t got much listening and/commenting done. (I can still do that on my phone… although the sound isn’t so good!)
I’ll try to do some catch up in the coming weeks.

Still hoping for a full return later this year!

Thanks so much friend. As for that "cosmic" lead: If you're refering to those "whale song" leads... It was the first time I ever attempted slides. If you're referring to the background leads they'll be plenty more of that tone on my next post. (Also an oldie given new life...)

Sometimes experiments work out surprisingly well. Other times they are cringe worthy... Looking back after all these years I'm amazed the guitars came out sounding as good as they did!

Was this posted on MJ of old? It sounds fairly familiar and I wondered if I had a download of the original at one time? (I've lost so many songs from those early days due to crashed hard drives.) Either way, fantastic job with shining this one up and sharing it with us!

Hi Joseph! Yes, this was posted at MJ back in 2006. Hence the familiarity!
The files were saved in finished form and were already compressed, so all I could do was some further EQ-ing. Seems to have worked well enough.

I'm not nearly as prolific these days as I was years back Stan. I haven't been able to crank out anything new for months. Just been polishing older tunes.
Like you, I often write stuff in my head while out and about, but more often than not it disappears by the time I get home!
