I cant believe I was born way back in 1962 I was born in a country where the skies seemed to be forever blue In the summer time I ran in golden fields with a smile upon my sunburned face The winters were cold all we had for heat was a big old fire place I was just a child when my family left for a new beginning Who knew the new beginning would turn into a life rong race with no ending But I cannot complain my life has turned out to be mostly good I feel that every day is a blessing and I’ve always tried to do the best that I could. Slowly getting older I never felt like I had nothing left to do Still I look back and I remember there were days when the skies weren’t forever blue I Remember the good times, the bad times and days when everything went right or wrong I reminisce about my parents generation and I’m sad because they are all long gone In my old age I met the love of my life when everybody was telling me I was late out of the gate In my opinion it’s never to late because the best things come to people who wait I Just witnessed a miracle of having my very first child My friends and family were all shocked they think the old man has gone wild I think that people should mind their own business and just let me be As far as I’m concerned It’s my life and it’s just a new beginning for me A new beginning for me Now I don’t care about people around me and what they say anyway Like Frank Sinatra always said it’s my life and I want to live it my way In the near future I think I’ll take Alex and Max for a trip around the world I would never consider going anywhere without my boy and my girl You know when the sun goes down its just a temporary ending And when the sun comes up again, the day will bring me a new beginning I know one day the good lord will take me away into his eternity I’ll say my goodbyes and when I leave…. it will be a new beginning for me.
