Here’s another new roots rocker.

I usually do the drums in midi, using loops I purchased
from Groove Monkey as starting points. Then I modify the
hell out of them to make them my own.

This time I used drum loops provided in LogicProX. These
gave the drums a more organic “feel” that better fit the
song IMHO.

This tune expresses BOTH my total distrust of the political
Left AND my deepening disappointment with the political Right.

’Nuff said…

I know exactly what you mean Charlie. It's one reason why I remain an Independent. It helps me stay a bit saner, and protects me from the vagaries of extreme polarization. However, this did not start out as a political song. I was just having fun on the guitar! The message was secondary... almost accidental.

Mike, I can’t get enough of this song. There’s a David Bowie-ish vibe with the vocals. I am also reminded of Savoy Brown’s “Needle and Spoon,” and Monster Magnet’s “Space Lord.” Guitar solo tone reminiscent of early Martin Barre. The drumming is magnificent! Big fat Bravo all the way around. 👏

I was banned from YouTube months ago. The algorithm kept funnelling communist videos to me. So I began posting extensive exposes and refutations. The lunatics that run YT then banished me forever. I wear that as a badge of honor!

Thanks so much Gary. I've gotten the Bowie comparison before. It surprises me because I've never been a fan. I love early Savoy Brown. "Hellbound Train" has continually been in rotation at my house since 1972. And, of course, I'm a devout Martin Barre fan. (Ian effectively ended Jethro Tull when he stupidly kicked Martin out of the band IMHO)! Always nice to hear from you!

For years I used a pick up on my acoustic and went directly into the computer. It was ok but did change the sound a bit. Lately I've been using a Yeti Orb microphone and getting a much more authentic sound. I have two electric guitars: an Epiphone Dot semi-hollow body, and a solid body Dean Playmate. Neither are any great shakes but they get the job done.
Glad you like the sounds I'm getting.
As for my vocals, they always make me wince, so I appreciate the occasional thumbs up.
