A few months ago I had a visit from my nephew. He does his own musical thing and shared a guitar and vocal track he had done. As usual I pasted this into my DAW and added some instruments. Rather than getting him to re-voice the vocals I decided to try separating the original into a vocal track and a guitar track. The app I used was “moises” on the iPad and it worked perfectly (basic app is free).

The vocal track could now be edited on its own and I was able to finish the instrumentation and produce a mix.
