For 14 years I played the Clubs and Concerts of Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay areas. While playing with the L.A.-based band "Mixed Company" (aka "Main Street"), the lead singer Vera and I wrote several songs for the band. "Lookin' For Love" was an 80s-style syn song that dazzled the audience. I was trying to recapture that sound and energy and asked Cindy Budd to help me with the project. We posted an early version before iComps closed. This is a remix of the song that will be on my new album "On The Boulevard" highlighting the music styles of the 70s and 80s. I've been in touch with Cindy and she is well and awaiting the relaunch of iComps. -Enjoy! "PLAY IT LOUD!"
This is really cool. Blondie immediately comes to mind with this. Also, when I was 14, a friend gave me a cassette of Berlin's "Love Life" album, and this tune kinda brings that to mind as well. One for the books.
Hey Mark,
Could have been inspired by Blondie the song was written after 1987. Cassettes? Going to need to connect my cassette player and rediscover that era on my cassettes that survived. That’s how I found this song!
Thanks Sam,
Syns are a bit overpowering Cindy in a few places, but that's an easy fix.
Not my favorite genre, but you had to give the audience what they wanted Lol!
Hi Steve. How wonderful to see Icomps up and around again, and to have one of our collaborations submitted. I always enjoyed working on songs with you. :) ......Thank you to all who listened and commented. :)
