Influenced by a Greg Brown song, "Ships." I used a couple lines of his lyrics but applied them to my track, which was influenced by Tony Bird. Kind of South Africa meets American Folk music kind of thing.

Tony bird reminds me of the Super Chicken ( cartoon from the 60's which may have been beforeyour time) This has a semi-reggae feel to it.. Liked the way it 'sailed' along!! Ship Ahoy!
You know - from experience - that anything that mentions Greg Brown and Pete is an instant favorite for me ! It's a great song, and you're so right about South African flavours... Like using the guitar as a percussive instrument. Love this a lot.
