Lyrics
Joni was smart
but she was to dumb to know it
She was alone
but she was to proud to show it

The sun went down and the moon came up
And the people wandered by
she looked at them from her small rooftop
And wondered why she died a bit inside

a bit inside

Tony could love
but he was to closed to show it
He hid behind pride
but he was to dumb to know it

The sun went down and the moon came up
And the people wandered by
He looked at them from his small rooftop
And wondered why he died a bit inside

a bit inside

Life is too short for isolation
Self imposing machinations
Let your soul breathe set your heart free
Let this life be all it can be now

Live your life right now
Live your life right now
Live and love right now

Yer just a balladeer at heart my friend. Wonderful story telling with a 73 vintage backing. Can’t get any better.

Wow, had to lower a bit the volume of my Mac :-) Great song, great arrangements and great lyrics, but that's not a surprise with you Al.

Fine story song, but I was especially struck by the production... reminded me of some of those indy '90s bands trying to sound like they were still in the '70s. I feel like I could easily hear this on classic/album-oriented rock radio in the mid-'90s and it fits very well.

Man you are one talented dude my friend. This sooooo good! Love the full and biting tone of your rhythm guitar herein. Fine lyrics delivered with conviction. Love it! πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ˜‹

Al... I've always loved wah. I'm always tempted to use it, but so far managed to hold off except on a couple of tunes. It's like flanged drums... another addiction that I've managed to keep under control... for now at least. Ha ha... I've only ever been on stage as a singer/guitarist in a folk group for a brief stint back in 1973-1974. Really never had much desire to perform live. Too much upheaval. I like to lead a calm life... I know... T.M.I. Sorry, that's what happens when I get a couple cups of "Joe" in me... πŸ˜‹
