On Tuesdays I go to sit with my dear friend Harvey as his wife is out of the house. He is suffering in advanced stages of ALS. One day a few months ago, he looked up at me and said "I never planned on this". Later that day, I sat and watched as his wife June took care of him and I was struck with "what love really looks like"... I wrote the song that weekend right after my piano tuner paid a visit, I played piano and Guitar and sang, my friends Dave Edwards played bass.... and Carl played drums

I appreciate and love the way meaning sparks creation into life. There is often good and bad in most situations and choosing to see that good says a lot! Composition and structure are spot on with instrumentation in the mix well placed. The melody is wonderful. Do you have ability to harmonise the voice in a supportive chorus to bring out the title and punchline..it may help cement this. Great tune and lyrics loved it!

Written with passion! Your story about your friend is really sad. Today I lost a schoolmate...we had dinner about three weeks ago. His passing was a shock because he was sounding strong, walking, talking about his coming book, was going to send me one! No, it isn't ever planned! Well done Scott!

Somehow missed this one... Sigh. This song hits home. We had a neighbor several years ago who was slowly dying. We spent a lot of time with her before she passed and we were with her in the hospital for her final breath. The experience was very rewarding after all was said and done. She was a sweetheart of a soul in life and in death and taught me a lot. This tune brought it all back to me in a wonderful way. Thanks for posting this Scott. 🙂
