These are a series of short orchestral movements which are meant to emulate cartoon music. Cartoon music of the 1940s and 1950s is high art in my books. It was orchestral, and the orchestration was pretty amazing. In some ways, I was introduced to classical music when watching Saturday morning cartoons.
These four little orchestral pieces have more instruments used than the kitchen sink (although there may be a kitchen sink to be heard!) Playing with sounds and satire is fun....pass me the anvil (yes, there is an anvil in the music).
