Song information
I wrote this several years ago and re-recorded the vocals recently.
I used a jazz drum track so as not to go 'off the beaten path' and composed the rest of the instruments from my head to the infamous Akai midi.

We hide and pray in the wishing well;
The Queen of Mean shall serve in Hell

and ever so statelys
misleading, misdeeding
Everyone's freaking;
Progressively speaking
appeasing, appeasing

Joyce:
Sounds like it was recorded in a small jazz club on the other side of the tracks.
It's like if "The Great Society" had been a jazz band instead of a folk rock band...
Fits the tune and the theme like a glove.
As for the theme: very insightful and clever lyrics!
And you know, of course, I agree completely...

I definitely dig this.   It does, indeed, sound like it's been done in a jazz club.   Great vibe, and of course, great vocals.   Very well done.

Cool cocktail music!
I can't see the band for all the smoke in the club (so many sitting around nodding their heads and tapping their feet to this fantastic song). Just love the atmosphere you created.  Nice strong finish.
