Where are we?

28-Nov-2023 | 1:43 AM
Online music has come a long way since I started in 1999.
There have been
sites where effective and ultimately satisfying music was made and freely shared.
What we were doing is having fun.  Let’s do that.
No one will ever be allowed, in a business sense, to break out of here.  That would end big music forever.  Too much money and power at play.
Doesn’t mean we can’t make music as original or technically interesting as the majors.
Don Henley, Eagles,  complains he lost a billion dollars: Napster and file sharing, copyright infringement and pirate cds and lps, cost him this fortune.
I would gladly listen to ya’ll before paying for that  guy’s spew.  Matter of taste?  Maybe.
Think about where we are.
Where we are now is vastly different from the first amendment environment of ‘99,
I want to encourage everyone to have fun.  Here is free advice: put it between the lines and carry on.
(If that is confusing to you ask.)
Be mindful of where you are.
I let Henley off too easy huh?  He’s mindful about important things.

Greetings Daug and Mike… At this stage of the game (some of us are getting old), fun and enjoyment is just being able to post, listen to, and comment on songs. And the potential for collaborations is icing on the cake.
