Here’s an update to my original upload of Sayonara which needed some adjustments. Thanks to those who listened and commented on the original post.

An American Air Force pilot during the Korean War falls in love with a famous Japanese dancer. Difficulties ensue.
This was a classic film from the 50s staring Marlon Brando and Miiko Taka.
Here is music inspired by the film that has a very different score by the great Franz Waxman.

Sounds like this could almost be the intro of a prog.rock number. The song.and its production are very impressive.

This piece is quite theatrical but I never imagined it as an opener to a progressive rock work, but now that you mentioned it, I can see it. Thanks Mark for opening my eyes and making my day. Cheers, Charlie

I don't know the film, but this seems to fit, quite well, into the milieu of the theme. I like the flattened third in the melody at the right moment and the percussion!

That flattened third adds some asian spice to this. As always thanks John. Cheers, Charlie

I agree with Venturesome re the opening salvo of a prog rock piece. Of course, the piece works as is for what it is. Big dynamic soundtrack! 👌👏👍😋
