I wrote this in 1980 and I make a new version every few years. This is the 2014 version and for the first time 10 years later I plan to make a vocal version if I can. In the meantime look at this as a roadmap

This falls somewhere between Gary Moore's "The Supernatural" and Eddie Van Halen's "Respect The Wind." (That's as high a compliment as I can muster brother!)
Amazing lead playing and positively lovely tone throughout.
Don't really know how you can improve on it. It'll be brave of you to try!
