Song information
The theme for this song was inspired by one of the Maxims inscribed at the ancient Greek Temple at Delphi.

I suppose it can be considered a prog-rock tune.

Originally posted at another site back in 2009 (I think), this posting has been partially re-recorded and thoroughly remixed.

Heartfelt thanks to Ken Kashuba, who graciously contributed some backing brass and a beautiful trumpet solo.

Masterfully mastered by Tom Hellsten at TSTstudios.

Be well friends!

Lyrics
NO SORROW

I
When hatred and fear seem to abound,
can’t let the sadness drag you down.
Is there a way to rise above the clouds of sorrow?

II
Given the chance to go or stay,
would you remain, or walk away?
What can one do when faced with so much sorrow?

III
Billions have trod this path before you friend.
Billions will tred it when you’re gone!
Why are you so surprised
to be found among those lonely ones?

IV
A hundred trillion stars are shining brightly;
inducing dreams of eternity.
The angels are smiling down and waiting patiently…

V
Each day is a chance to start again.
Seek out your neighbor! Make a friend!
There is no need to walk upon the paths of sorrow.

VI
Life is an ever revolving door.
…Scene of Wisdom’s unfolding score!
Embrace it and choose to live apart from sorrow!

Great collab. It is lovely so much prog rock that is posted here. Music with idea and musicianship in a way top 10 pop just does not have.

Another fine song and excellent advice ! I have broken down in tears crying out "there's too much sorrow in this world" It is hard to shake sometimes. This morning ,a card on my cupboard jumped out that read "each day is a gift from God " Smiling that I am verticle, I look to see if you have posted some more of your magic and there it was..."choose to live apart from sorrow" Cudos to you and thanks !

Hi'ya Don! I too am smiling that you continue to be verticle!
This life has both a positive and a negative pole. Both are quite real.
I believe we have a say in which pole we will primarily gravitate to or focus on.
Another way of saying it is that, in the end, it all comes down to how we choose to respond to the varied experiences this life throws at us.
Nothing has happened to me that I haven't learned something from. So for me,
gratitude is the attitude!

Hey Bernardo, I appreciate the thumbs up, as I'm sure the other guys do.
Ken did some nice trumpet work. I count myself lucky to have recruited him.
The original had an acoustic guitar solo that never sounded right to my ears. Replacing it with Ken's trumpet playing saved the day, and Tom's mastering made it all sparkle!

Nice song Mike, that brass gives it a nice touch.  Is that bom bom bom I hear from Child In Time 😎

Hi Matt!
The BOM BOM BOM in the mid-section is inspired by both Deep Purple's CHILD IN TIME, and It's A Beautiful Day's BOMBAY CALLING. I did try to modify it a little to make it my own. Methinks it makes for a nice transition into the lead solo!
Glad you enjoyed it bro!

I enjoyed it very much.  You are right... I forgot that the original is from Its A Beautful Day.  I read it in a Jon Lord interview.

Never heard trumpet in a prog-rock piece but why not :-) Maybe in an Alan Parson's Project song but not sure.
Great collab from you all guys.

A great collab gents!
The trumpet in this reminds me of Hunters and Collectors (An Aussie band, who use a lot of trumpet in their work)

Ha ha... A trumpet in a prog rock tune? Perhaps in King Crimson's LIZARD? (I can't remember...)
But why not? Just pushing the boundaries a tad.
Thanks for listening and commenting my friend!
