Leaving Earth behind, a pioneer's call
Journeying to the red planet, standing tall
Saying goodbye to my family, my heart's so heavy
But I know the world is watching, their hopes are with me

Eight long months, the voyage so far 
Alone up here, amongst the stars
Back home, my loved ones look up with care
Sending their strength, as I breathe recycled air

Traveling through the vastness of space
Danger lurks, but I won't be erased
The future calls, I must not fall
This Mars mission, my legacy to recall
