Song information
People hear "Twitcher" and think of a nervous tic, but it’s just a birdwatcher—like me. As a kid, I was mesmerized by the birds along our backyard creek in Poland, a fascination that later led me to the Christchurch Birdwatching Society in New Zealand.

Birdwatching wasn’t just about birds; it was about stillness, noticing, and, for me, turning those moments into songs. While unpacking a few months ago, I found a half-written song in my diary from 1990 ( I was 13 years old), Ive been inspired by those early innocent days, and maybe it’s finally time to finish it—because some songs, like the birds themselves, are worth waiting for.

Lyrics
Lyrics by Mojca Czarka

Verse 1
I sit by the old oak tree
Watch the birds fly wild and free
Dancing on the summer breeze
Like a song only they can see

Chorus
Oh, they go up, they go down
Spinning circles all around
Never tied, never bound
Oh, how I wish I knew that sound

Verse 2
Mama calls me, says come inside
But I just watch the swallows glide
Riding high, then diving low
They don’t care where the wind might blow

Chorus
Oh, they go up, they go down
Spinning circles all around
Never tied, never bound
Oh, how I wish I knew that sound

Instrument break

Verse 3
Maybe one day I’ll fly too
Find the sky and chase the blue
But for now, I’ll sit and dream
By this old oak tree

Chorus
Oh, they go up, they go down
Spinning circles all around
Never tied, never bound
Oh, how I wish I knew that sound

Outro
Even when the day is done
And the stars outshine the sun
I still hear them call my name
And I smile, just the same

Love the clear crisp guitar in this! This is wonderful.
The singing and composition in this remind me of some acoustic pieces of a lesser known American artist named Cheri Knight. She originally played bass and occasionally sang in a Boston based band called the Blood Oranges.
She released two solo albums, the first of which was magnificent. She left the industry to take up organic gardening/farming.
Like Cheri's... your vocals are to die for Mo...

PS... if you want to look up Cheri Knight's first album, it is called "The Knitter." Came out in the 1990s. Some electric rock and some acoustic. A singing style and feel very similar to your own.

Lovely!  This is so well written.  Such a clean recording too.  Oh how I can relate to this song, had the same joy as a youth, sitting in the trees for hours and observing nature.  Bravo...

This song is absolutely beautiful. I love the story behind it—how you rediscovered an unfinished piece from your childhood and transformed it into something truly radio-worthy. Most of your music is top-tier, and I really hope you find the right person to take your work to the next level. You have incredible talent—one of the very best!

It never fails... The acoustic work is just splendid, so are your vocals. A beautiful song. And harmonies are superb also. A gem (another one from you and your band...).
