Sam, a few times a week Stan writes a new song, and some of them have special meaning to him. Occasionally I find one to put together quickly ( never ends up that way š), donāt even think heās heard this version.
That is beautiful. You must know each other. Because you are together, and we are not seeing that it is "photoshopped" in this photo. Vocals skipping up an octave in the chorus is always effective and that's what you are doing from lower perfect 5th to upper perfect 5th
... and of course your octave jumps correlate well with your 'climbing' lyrics in the chorus. As you know, " over the rainbow's " melodic line does this right at the beginning however it is done in the verse ; from tonic note to an octave up, while the chord passes to relative minor.
Scott,
I happy you enjoyed the song. Stan is a melody master, and the lyrics fit the emotion. I Luv taking Stanās music a making it a full production. The picture was taken around 2016 while Stan was on a business trip here in Los Angeles by my grandson. The background was changed though.
Thanks!
Morgan, Glad you enjoyed the folk stylings of Stan Loh! He sends out a new song a few times a week. Occasionally a song catches my attention or is of personal sentiment to Stan, and I add Bass, drums, and accompaniment instruments.
Awww .... thank you all, Guys and fellow musicians! I am surprised at myself reaching such high notes at the age of 81! (was 80 then I think)! Much appreciated!
Wyndsok,
Not everyone here may understand your comment, but I sure do Lol! The songs l do with Stan have an underlying connection, some of them I have already written, many times in the same key. I just take my music and fit Stanās vocals and guitar into the mix. Others have special meaning to him and enjoy bringing the to life (a term Stan used). Thanks for your continued supportā¦
