Song information
This is another VERY early recording from sometime between 2006 and 2008.

All the original file stems were lost in the Great Mac Crash of 2011, so I only had
the finished track to work from. So it's not remixed; only remastered.

It's a noisy and---looking back---rather naive idealization of the pop culture in
the mid to late 1960s.

Nevertheless, I can still stand by some of it. Lol!

Anyway, I haven't had the time or the energy of late to start on an altogether
new piece (though I have plenty of ideas).

It was fun for me to take this trip down memory lane. I hope some of you get
a kick out of it.

Be well friends!

Lyrics
FOR LOVE AND MUSIC

I
Way back in the day when we were young,
we took our lumps, yeah we had some fun.
We cast our bread on the waters
for love and for music.

II
Yeah we were dreamers and very naive.
The Man said: 'Move along son!'
We refused to leave!
We were the soldiers of peace
armed with love and with music.

III
But time it moved on...
Where did it all go?
---the hunger for freedom and liberty for all.
I want it all back!
How about you?
Lets make our mark for the right
before this game is through...

IV
The music was loud.
The Brit Invasion was on,
singing 'bout love and a better world to come.
We were so close to the truth,
baby I could just feel it!

V
The West Coast erupted in a summer of love,
and many a flower child was touched by the Dove.
---Jesus people, hippies, and freaks
and all that love and that music!

VI
Well how long, Lord?
What will it take, before we open our eyes,
and admit our mistakes?
Generations pass, and history unfolds.
We're poor and we're weak
but we still have the love and the music...

VII
Sometimes late in the evening,
when I kneel to pray;
I think of all the trouble in the world today.
It's never ever too late
to face the love and the music!

VIII
Well it's a long long way,
from then till now,
but I've never removed my hand
from off of the plow.
I stand before you today
with the Lord and the music!

You never do any song by half measures. Always sounds like you're giving 1,000%! Love the energy!

@Neumuzik You are so right.  Great job Mike.  I can relate to your memory lane.  Great music again.  I like your voice on that little part near the end
"Sometimes late in the evening, when I kneel to pray". You should do a whole song in that voice.

The foundations of this are really good.
Double lead guitars too :) :)
It really is worth putting in the effort to remix and remaster this.
I look forward hearing this again, when you do that. Nice work man.

Ha! Thanks bro...
This one harks back to when I first began recording. I was so d a m n excited to be able
to record and post my own songs that many of my earliest tunes bristle with energy.
Too bad I didn't know a thing about mixing and mastering back then...

Thanks Matt. Sadly, I no longer have quite the vocal range that I did back then...
Glad you enjoyed this moldy oldie...
