Watch where the gold leaves fall,
As they flitter in the Autumn wind,
Not far where graffiti’s scrawled,
Where the message is calling, reminding,
Calling for the joys of life…

Two hearts and letters scrawled,
The arrow now faded and bent,
The vows once quoted now appalled,
The blows came swinging, swinging,
Swinging toward the downside of life…

Can’t take the joys of life for granted,
The fabric of nature slanted,
Don’t kill the rhythm of the loving rain,
With your greed and your short-term brain,

Don’t kill the love that pulls your chain,
With care-less feelings and dark disdain,

In a life where the love is learnt,

Slugging against the joys of life…
