I love to sit down with one of my guitars and just noodle about. Occasionally I’ll hit upon a melody, a riff, or a chord progression that I think I might want to develop at some future time. Whenever I do, I film myself playing the riff, and then place the video file in a folder.
Recently I was looking through my “ideas” folder and I stumbled upon something I had labelled “hillbilly.” I started messing with it, and eventually came up with this Western flavored instrumental.
It was a lot of fun to play and to record, although my left hand ached for two days after the recording of my guitar parts. Still healing… Sigh…
It’s a bit of a departure from my usual fare. I hope some of you can enjoy it!

Oddles of noodles? With a cameo by Trigger. Trigger was Roy Roger's horse, for you Millennials, put that in your backpack. Trigger was smarter than Roy in the oaters.
Interesting that as it begins, it reminds me of a fusion between classical and old west ( the guitar riff) and then just before Mr Ed whines .. then the rocking old west kicks in. I am a fan of the old West. I can see tumblweed blowing in my mind's eye. This was excellent!!
I can relate to your hand issues… I have been a writer for so many years that I have to monitor my time on the computer because my forearms and thumbs start to ache. Isn't that a drag? Nice job… This is very catchy.
Weird thing is I was unsure whether to post because it's so different from what I usually do. I'm glad I did. Played it on the big stereo the other night when relaxing with my wife Diana, and she was blown away by it! So what the hell do I know?!?!? Ha ha...
