Song information
Well, WATERWORLD didn't quite have the calming effect that I hoped it would.

(Not even on ME! Lol...)

Perhaps this song will do better?

It's a post-apocalyptic FANTASY set 5,000 years in the future,
provided our Creator doesn't put an end to this farce before then.

Perhaps there is hope for our species after all...

Recorded in 2009. Remastered by yours truly for this post.

Enjoy my friends!

Lyrics
ALL IS QUIET

I
The myth of 'progress'... madness' siren song.
The path that led us all astray.

(It's nothing but a memory now...)

All is quiet.
The cities stand,
emptied out like skeletons;
---graveyards for the pride of man.

II
The earth she blossoms once again.
Soft technologies prevail.

(Gone are the death-machines and chemicals...)

All is quiet.
The soil and seasons,
are our focus and our reasons.
We sing our songs and till our fields...

III
Footprints on the Moon an ancient legend.
The phallic dream long blown away...

(We've seen the light of day!)

All is quiet under the Sun,
for the motor and the gun.

The struggle over...
Nature won!

Gee, I thought our creator ended  it back in the early 1990s.. and the rest is caught between a dream and a nightmare. Again, you ever impressive lyrics nicely astound me.  Your instrumental break weaved a sharp contrast to the acoustic guitar.  Some say we really didn't land on the Moon- just food for thought.. This moody and emotive piece is again another best of..

Nice one Mike ! Ah, if only the strife ended as in your lyrics and we all returned to peace and tranquility in nature.

Hmm... I was there in the early 1990s. Guess I wasn't paying attention. My bad... LOL!
As for the dream and the nightmare... just more human history I guess.
Thanks so much for your continued friendship and support Joyce. Means a lot to me.

Well Ray, if we are in "the little season" (Rev 20), you could be right! If not, our own individual life spans are little seasons enough. As our Lord said: "Watch and pray."
Glad you enjoyed this one bro.

Great song Mike.  Love your passionate singing over the guitars.  Long after we are gone nature will have forgotten us without even a fossil to remind it of us.

All was quiet until Iron Man walked in, ha!  That kind of surprised me when the heavy low graoning lead came in, very cool though.

Lol... "Iron Man"...
That groaning lead was acheived---strangely enough---by holding my electric guitar right up to my Mac while recording. I got a little feedback and it worked in my favor. Who knew?
Thanks for listening and commenting Pete!

I could see this as the end titles for a world ending calamity film roll by. Beautiful work here Mike.

Would that be a classical guitar I hear during the acoustic parts?  I used to work in restaurants playing classical guitar, so that resonates, if it is.  That lead guitar juxtaposed is so choice.   Kind of like something Zeppelin or Heart might have done in their early years.   In one of his bits, George Carlin kind of predicted this would be exactly what would happen to the Earth in due time.

Hi Mark. I was playing my Goya. It was gifted to me years ago when I worked as Custodian in the Oregon Supreme Court Bldg. It belonged to a female Justice. One evening after I thought everyone had left I took my break in her office, found her guitar and sat down to play. She walked in and was so impressed she gave me the guitar! I've only recorded with it a few times. I used in on "The Crucible."
The electric part was lots of fun. I've always felt it added more dimensionality to the song...
Glad you enjoyed it my friend!

I came across the phrase "Rustic Utopia" in a book about "Alternative Technology" many years ago.
Your well crafted vision of such a utopia is full of longing for a better future.

I'm tired. Full day of meetings, and networking. This is my last song tonight! You're my curtain call. I like the folkish feel to this. It's got a country feel as well. I like this...you'ver very versatile. Wish I was!
