Wrote, recorded and mixed this on a Tascam 4 tracker "Porta Studio" playing a 7 string guitar. My friend Joshyn Rodriguez on drums with a Roland electric drum set and my friend Lisa Ashcraft on vocals with a Shure SM 58. Circa 2003...
Ha I did some learning on that Tascam 4 track... this sounds way better than anything I could conjure up... how old is this and can you import the tracks to other DAWs?... also put a few miles on the Roland drum machine... this Rocks and I enjoyed knowing what you did it on... impressive
@ScottCarmichael Thank you...this was between 2003 and 2005 at the drummers house..We wrote and recorded several withing those two years, this one been the first I am pretty sure it was 2003. The Roland drum kit was recorded mono to one of the channels..The 7 string guitar and bass to the other 2. Main vocals using the last channel. From there I recorded my mix to a computer via a delta PCI audio interface and added the chorus vocal harmonies using Cubase as well as Eq and compression. I also used a noise gate to remove hiss from the tape although we used metal type cassettes which seemed to deliver the best sound and clarity. I would not be surprised if added other things once the mix was on the computer like I did the vocals harmonies, but if I remember correctly this one I did not. I probably still have the cassette somewhere..I would be curious to see what the original sound was., that was quite a while back.
