The music was written after I had listened to an artist named Janita who put out an album in 2006 called "Seasons Of Life," which is actually a pretty cool album. I wrote in the same mellow acoustic jazz groove feel. I lived in Los Angeles for 8 years in the late 80's/early 90's, and I had been to Olivera Street a few times. Truth be told, I wasn't blown away by the place, but it was pretty cool to check out when I was there and it seemed to be a good subject for a song. I, myself, never had an interest in being a vendor there, but again, I thought it'd maybe be a good idea to write about a guy who had wanted to be one and never got to it.

It's been decades since I have been to Olivera Street- I fondly remember a strawberry chocolate chip cookie make with corn masa.. Your vocals are so pure. This piece has a bit of late 60's/early70's flavor to me.. Vocal remind me of Jesse Colin Young of the Youngbloods. Ethereal yet moody composition.
