Song information
The music was written after I had listened to an artist named Janita who put out an album in 2006 called "Seasons Of Life," which is actually a pretty cool album. I wrote in the same mellow acoustic jazz groove feel. I lived in Los Angeles for 8 years in the late 80's/early 90's, and I had been to Olivera Street a few times. Truth be told, I wasn't blown away by the place, but it was pretty cool to check out when I was there and it seemed to be a good subject for a song. I, myself, never had an interest in being a vendor there, but again, I thought it'd maybe be a good idea to write about a guy who had wanted to be one and never got to it.

It's been decades since I have been to Olivera Street- I fondly remember a strawberry chocolate chip cookie make with corn masa.. Your vocals are so pure. This piece has a bit of late 60's/early70's flavor to me.. Vocal remind me of Jesse Colin Young of the Youngbloods. Ethereal yet moody composition.

I love the jazzy chord progression. Lovely melody. And you perform the whole thing so well.

Moves and glides, the guitar fills up backed section is splendid. Thanks for posting.

Engaging composition. So jazzy... Really nice vocal. (I agree with the Jesse Colin Young comparison...) Very well done. Much enjoyed! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘
