The sophisticated funky Venturesome returns!
This was written as a response to a tune I had collaborated on with a singer on macjams.net called Why Don't You Call Me. I seem to remember, the website shut down before it could be shown. I might put it up here soon.
This song, musically borrows it's tempo/rhythm from the Toto song "99," which was a minor hit in it's day. Another old song called "Dream On," not by Aerosmith, but by Bill Labounty, was another influence with it's sweet jazz chordings.

Lyrics
We all know the situation
You're in the major leagues - a sensation
You don't wanna lose what you have

To everyone it's plain to see
Communication is truly key
You don't wanna close the door

CHORUS:
Why don't you call her
Why don't you call her
Don't make it so hard on yourself
Just gotta let her know
And let them feelings show
Love is such an easy thing to lose

Why is there hesitation
There's no need for seperation
You're only wasting time

You know it wouldn't be so strange
If you had to make a change
You know what you gotta do

REPEAT CHORUS:

Superb arrangement. I have a fondness of jazz infused pop and this fits the bill. Your vocals are so smooth.

Yes yes yes! A fine bit of jazzy pop balladeering Mark. Piano arrangement and guitar work dovetail nicely. I wish I could compose pop like this... 👍👍👍🤩

Dig those cool jazz chords that echo a late seventies Dan a little bit, but not in an overt way. You weaved them in there nicely. Enjoyed!

Like the rhythm section on this cut. The background vocals work great. The feel on the recording is probably the thing. Nicely done. Lead vocals shined!

Im digging the soundscape here... I love the wide space the keypad occupies... I've been trying unsuccessfully to achieve exactly this... and a bit of Donald Fagan happening here... always a great thing for me.... and the changes are delicious... perfect use of space... Play the rests.. and let the song breath...
