And mountain tops and streams
Now I draw the details 
Of war and broken dreams

The sea is blue
The fields are green
The roads a shade of brown
Outlines and a shade of grey
For what was once a town.

One day they’ll publish history books
With maps like ones I draw
With diagrams and footnotes
That show the end to war
