Lyrics
Can’t stop moving
I’ll never be still
My name is Sisyphus
Rolling that boulder up the hill

Temperature is rising and the pressure gonna drop
Persephone is watching and she’ll never let me stop
I scale the heights and climb so far, the peak eludes me still
The rock is pulled by hands of fate and rolls back down the hill

It’s endless/It’s the myth of the absurd

Can’t stop moving
Hades captured me
I’m trapped in repetition
For eternity

Cheating death and leaving twice the shores of river Styx
Knew there’d be a price to pay the Gods loathed all my tricks
Now I’m in this deep abyss, this dungeon of torment
My empty labors have no end and none hear my lament

It’s endless/It’s the myth of the absurd

I love the sound. To amuse myself I looked up the protagonist.
In Greek mythology, Sisyphus was a king of Ephyra (now known as Corinth) who was known for his cunning and deceit. Here are the primary misdeeds attributed to Sisyphus that led to his legendary punishment: Betrayal of Zeus: Sisyphus revealed to the river god Asopus that Zeus had abducted Asopus's daughter, Aegina. This act was seen as a betrayal because it was information Zeus would have preferred kept secret. Cheating Death: Sisyphus managed to chain up Death (Thanatos) when Death came to collect him, preventing anyone from dying. This caused chaos in the world, leading Ares, the god of war, to free Thanatos because warriors could not die in battle. When Death finally came for Sisyphus again, he tricked his wife into not performing the proper burial rites, which allowed him to complain to Hades in the underworld, leading to him being sent back to the living world to rectify this. Hubris and General Treachery: Sisyphus was known for his hubris and numerous acts of trickery, theft, and ******. His actions consistently showed a disregard for divine order and human laws. As punishment for these transgressions, the gods sentenced Sisyphus to an eternal task in the underworld: Eternal Punishment: He was condemned to roll a huge boulder up a hill forever in Tartarus (the deepest part of the underworld). Each time Sisyphus, through immense effort, would near the top of the hill, the rock would roll back down, and he would have to start over. This symbolizes the futility of endless, repetitive, and ultimately fruitless labor, making his name synonymous with tasks that are both laborious and pointless. This myth has been interpreted in various ways over time, especially in philosophical discussions about the human condition, notably by Albert Camus in "The Myth of Sisyphus," where he explores the concept of the absurdity of life.
